Mistakes in invite

I realise that there is a mistake in the invite! SORRY, EVERYONE (WHO BOTHERS)!!!!

I gave D-chan the misspelt Bible verse. It's supposed to be 'We love Him, because he first loved us', not 'We LOVED Him, because he first loved us'. This is found at the top of the church invite, the English page. (squawk!)

Sorry, everyone. This is my bad. I must have typed the extra 'd' when I gave D-chan my invite details. -_- Sounds like something I'd do though.

Oh but the Chinese one is correct. ^_^

Haha I can think of a lot of doctrine-related jokes for this but it is disrespectful and wrong to tell them. :P Anyway, do forgive my mistake. Disclaimer: I love God in the past tense, present tense and future tense. Heh.

Oh and on another note, I haven't been sleeping well. I really, really think it's my bed. It's not a very good bed - it doesn't really have a brand and it came fairly cheap... My neck and my back just wouldn't listen to me at all. And I can't seem to just fall into sleep comfortably. It's always a struggle of sorts to sleep, and when I awake I feel very dissatisfied with the quality of sleep I'm getting.

The good thing is, We invested in a Sealy mattress for our marital bed, and I am looking forward to that. 'Sealy Posturepedic', you know? Good for someone like me, who has scoliosis and a fractured coccyx. :)

Just 1 month, 1 week and 1 day to the wedding. Who's excited? I AM! :D

What happened to the time...

I have worked non-stop on wedding-related matters for close to eight hours. This cannot be healthy, but you can't say it's not helpful.

Amazing progress, I reckon. Got a couple of important things out of the way, a big chunk of the honeymoon planned, just need to add final touches on the MC script before it's ready, and yes, while staying up till this hour is quite manic, I feel so proud of myself. Hahahaha.

I am a full-time bride. I am a part-time student, but full-time bride. It really does make sense now. :P

This afternoon We went to file for consent of marriage at ROM, and The Groom realised that he has not planned anything for the wedding. He has been paying for everything, that is true, but everything has been managed by me. I suddenly feel this rush of satisfaction. Hahahaha. Let's see what's been sourced/chosen/done by yours truly:

1) Personalised ribbons
2) Wedding favours
3) Photographers (who referred videographer)
4) Caterer for tea reception
5) Banquet venue
6) Rings
7) Bridal studio
8) Wedding invites printer
9) Wedding music, even the scores
10) Designers for various things (invites, guestbook, programme sheet - thanks, girls, will give you all angbao <3)
11) Honeymoon tickets
12) Musicians
13) Bible verse for the wedding
14) WEDDING BLOG XDDD
15) Wedding invites concept and text (Devon is the genius behind the Photoshop and typeset though)
16) Angbao box
17) Wedding stationery
18) Ring pillow
19) Caricatures for customised T-shirt
20) 'Let's Celebrate' 1st Local stamps (didn't like the one with the bird, but no money to do the one with our faces)
21) Wedding banquet flow of events; MC speech and Stories Project

I was THIS CLOSE to doing the video montage but argh, too tired. No more video montage for this wedding, sorry.

All my hardwork for the past two years. Muahahaha. FRUITION! Tomorrow I need to dig out the ring pillow. I hope it's still in that nook under my window. Heh.

Seems like all I've been doing lately is to blog about the wedding

Okay guess what I'm doing now!!! :DDDD

I am writing the MC script. Heehee so fun. Of course, Rissy (one of the loves of my life lol) will have to do a bit of improv, so I'm just giving her a bit of skeleton.

We are not going to have the wedding video and the cake cutting and I guess the champagne bit too... We both aren't too keen on the yum seng. (We don't see value in it. O_O) Probably We'll still pour the drinks, but We are just going to raise the glasses, go 'Cheers!' and clink with Our neighbours before taking a rather perfunctory sip. Haha. That's how I imagine it, at least.

I have a lot to discuss with the banquet staff on that day, and I need a banquet coordinator. I remember asking D-chan - will reconfirm when the date comes closer.

The catering, however... Hm. Our caterer changed hands twice (as in the sales executive handling Our account switched twice) and the new guy is some dude called Elvis. (I was about to type 'Presley' but then I remembered it didn't sound so cultured.)

Okay so anyway - that's all. I don't feel like blogging anymore 'cos I have stuff to write. Have to write Our speech too. Capping it at seven minutes or under. I miss public speaking so much. If anyone is getting married after me and needs a wedding MC, CALL ME OKAY. XD Sorry Rissy, I seem to be stealing your business... XD

Fatal Personality Flaw at work

I cannot, cannot, cannot stand it that I have to wait for August to book my accommodation overseas.

I am losing sleep over the whole planning process.

Why, why do I need everything to be perfect? It's not normal, it's crazy.

I need corners to meet on my wedding invites.

I need stamps to be placed in precise distances to the edge of the envelope.

I need to print out every map possible that I will be using for my honeymoon, and write down every different exit of each train station until I can visualise it in my head so I won't get lost.

I need to plan out each activity for the trip to the hour of every day, including which hours are 'free-to-roam'.

I need every detail to be set right by my hand. I understand that I am stressing myself, but honestly, have I never stopped?

Medically I have a history of stress - it's recorded in my patient history. I'm not the kind who lashes out at people, but most of the time something goes horribly wrong with my body, like the jaw and the back ache and the gastric pain and the loss of appetite that plagued me at different stages of my life, and I remember those clearly.

And why - why do I feel that my family isn't helping? I don't like changes, I don't like my plans to be altered because it means I have one more thing to take care of. And no I do not want to seek help from other people, mainly because:

1) a lot of people are helping me on this already, and it's a lot of work for free and I don't think that is something to be trivialised or to be taken for granted
2) I still can do a lot of stuff on my own, it's not like I'm working (in fact my real full-time job right now is planning the wedding, and other brides would have the excuse of outsourcing everything because they need to work but I don't)
3) getting people to help you in things you can do means: things sometimes don't go your way, and since I'm a person who needs things to be done my way I'd very much prefer doing it myself to save stressing/offending other people and stressing myself even more.

Tired...

Did another round of wedding invites. Dispatching tomorrow WHEEEEEEE.

My auntie helped me slot the invites and stick stamps this time... But she put the cards the wrong way... The picture is facing away from the opening slot (i.e. you can see the picture through the front of the envelope). Ah Yi, tombalek lah!!! :P Hehe.

I am such a stickler for these things. I always put the invite with the picture facing the slot so that the receipient can immediately see the invite in its full glory once he/she opens the card. If you put it in with the back of the card facing you, the receipient will have to turn the card and the reaction will be delayed!!!

So, people, this is how anal I can be with the wedding. Haha. My parents ask me why I don't get people to help me do all these stuff. It's because I am so very hardcore and perfectionist when it comes to marital matters. It's still better to do things yourself, and go through every single detail.

Sleep. Now.

Note to self: Buy air-tickets for honeymoon.

Feat.

I have prepared 40 invites.

In four hours I've done 40 invites.

Writing names, slotting into envelopes, finding addresses, writing addresses, sticking stamps...

I am tired but at least I'm more or less done with my list, so yay.

It seems like there is a lack of envelopes...

Don't know.

Anyway I'll be busy this week.

Today I think I'm dropping by my old office at Club Street to give out invites. Then I'm going to meet my poly friends for dinner, so I'm going to pass them their invites as well.

Tuesday I'm going over to my old school to give the invites to my ex-colleagues. I need to be there around 2 PM... So many people to catch. Haaa.

And I need to wait for my poly lecturers to reply my email before I dispatch their invites.

Ah and also some of my poly seniors.

School is starting in about 11 or 12 days so I will just hang on to the cards for my uni mates...

Thursday is ROM, then The Groom is coming over to my place and We're gonna do the church invitges.

Today (well, yesterday) the Flautist and the Pianist played together. Clemmie, practice!!! :P

Wednesday is tuition day. Friday is Bukit Panjang Day, where I go live with my auntie for a night because I have to give tuition to a kid in her vicinity. I need to prepare some Western Calligraphy samples for him... And also print out some English manga...

I need sleep. And I need to find more tuition jobs, because I just rejected a job offer. Haaa.

So much for dieting

I just had a bowl of noodles. UGH. DIETING SIN NUMBER ONE - SUPPER.

But it was a need. Not a want. Very hungry X_X

It looks like a long night because I'm going to write up some invites for ex-colleagues and primary school friends. Hmmm. I'm wondering if I should invite people on Facebook first to check their availibility, or just send them the invite and call up for RSVPs?

Ah I think I'll do the former. It'll save more time. I'll write down the confirmed list first.

I have at least... seven primary school people for the banquet as of now, counting my P6 form teacher.

Jiaying, if you're reading this - when are we going shopping for the guestbook? :D

And The Groom told me yesterday that We don't have to have a video for the banquet, so YAY I AM NOT GONNA DO A VIDEO. No time, no energy. Invites are a headache in itself. It's touchy and sensitive and has a lot to do with parents. :(

Honeymoon has yet to be planned, thanks to the absolutely sucky system that my university has for offshore students. I need concrete dates for vacation, which they cannot give right now. This is so dumb. NEVER be an offshore student, people. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I find it very irksome that I cannot plan my honeymoon and book my tickets just because I don't know when my exams are. I hate this scheme of things. Pray for me, people. Thank you.

Okay off to do the invites. I am sleepy but I will persevere (plus I need to let the noods digest :P)!!!!

Updates

1) The wedding invites are ready.

2) sY, your gift... My mom and dad approached the neighbours, they're actually rather nasty - they threw the parcel away. I'm so sorry!!! Please don't send another gift, it's too much expense on your part okay? I really, really appreciated that you even sent me something. I love yousY. MWAH.

3) We printed our invites at T&T Printing in City Square, JB. My future in-laws went with Us to make the proofs, and Our very sweet friends Yaolin and Yunci went with us to collect the loot. Teehee. For those who are reading, you'll probably receive your invite soon! Hang in there!

4) What's left to do is our wedding video, and our church programme sheet (which I need to get another couple of friends to help out with) and to lose weight. HAHA. Yes. And the guestbook, which my friend from uni is helping me with. Yes, I need to go out with her this week to buy the stuff for the guestbook.

5) We should be sending out invites in two weeks, right now We're collating addresses and arranging tables for the banquet. Quite a headache, but still manageable.

6) I have to head over to FB to reply some messages regarding the wedding. Hmmm. So many things to do. I need to write a couple of notes to my relatives, and also confirm the shipment of the ang bao box and the pens.

7) Got the softcopy of the wedding photos! Here are my LEAST FAVOURITES:
here~ )
